What is a session fee?
Where services are not already packaged, a standard session fee for all general or events bookings will occur. This fee includes over the phone pre-consultation, choice of studio and/or location shoot, unlimited photographs taken, professional editing of 30 high resolution images, delivered digitally. Additional edits can be arranged at the time of pre-consultation. The hourly rate is not included in this fee, please refer to the pricing guides found on the investments page.

Where do your sessions take place?

It seems only natural that we would capture your stories wherever they take place, and wherever seems most comfortable to you at the time. I specialise in capturing your family in your home environment, however I am more than happy to travel to your favourite locations where you are able to enjoy yourselves.

What time of the day do you book in sessions?

This differs depending on the type of session, whether it is on location, at the client's home or in studio. Generally if it is an indoor shoot (client home or studio) the time of day is not a major factor, as I will have studio lighting to assist if natural lighting is compromised. However, for sessions on location, I prefer to shoot early mornings before 11am, or my favourite is during golden hour.

Do you work on the weekends?

Yes, I do work on some weekends. Usually I keep weekends free for weddings or event photography, however please feel free to request a date via the contact page and if I have your date of preference available, we can book it in.

What equipment you use?

My camera bag consists of two professional full framed cameras- Canon 5D Mark IV cameras, a range of professional prime and zoom Canon lenses with fast apertures for low light situations and Canon speed light flashes. I also operate a DJI Mavic drone upon request, of course considering its use in a suitable environment only.

What are RAW files and do we get these files?

Most professional photographers shoot in RAW. These large image files are the original ‘on camera’ digital files that contain all the original about each individual photo. Part of the whole post-processing work involves editing of these RAW files, to ensure any technical issues are corrected, and detailed signature editing styles are achieved.  Once the post post processing of your gallery of images is complete, they will be saved and exported as high resolution Jpeg files, and provided to you for viewing, sharing on social media or print.

How long until my images are ready?

Each photography session is different and requires individualised attention during post-processing. After the session is complete and I have looked through the raw pieces of work, I will send a follow-up email with an estimated time that I expect to edit and turn around the body of work.

Which methods do you use to deliver the images to me?

Ultimately, this is up to you. I can provide the images digitally via a private link sent through to your email. This method is more common as it allows for an instant transfer and you can download the collection and do what you please with them. Otherwise, I can send the images via USB through the post.

Do you only offer images digitally?

On request, I do offer personalised curated photo books to be placed on your coffee table or share amongst friends, or a print collection to be hung proudly on your living room wall. To find out more about this additional service, please visit the investments page.

Do you send an online gallery with the files, so we can select our favourite images that we like?

No, the only time you will be able to view and select your images and products is if you choose to add on the "First Look Post-session Consultation". This session can take place at either the studio, a local cafe or at the comfort of your home. During this session, you will have access to viewing of the raw images and co-select a gallery of however many images were included in the initial package chosen. You will also have the opportunity to request additional touchup, airbrushing or colour grading.

What happens to our images after you have delivered them to us?

Your edited and raw image gallery will be kept with me for up to 3 years. In case pf emergency, I can provide you with a copy of these files.

What is involved in the booking process, and how do I request a booking?

I always encourage clients to book earlier rather than later. To request a booking, please fill in the initial contact formAfter a date, time frame and session type has been agreed, you will gain access to our online booking system including a questionnaire, acceptance of the terms & conditions, and a deposit invoice. As noted in the terms & conditions, the deposit is non-refundable, and acts as acknowledgment of a secured booking on the date and time of your choice.

What happens if I need to change the date?

No problem, as long as it is not with 24 hours of the original booking date and time, otherwise a $100 re-booking fee will incur. However, please contact me as soon as you can to reschedule to avoid disappointment with desired dates. There is more detailed information on rescheduling in the terms & conditions page, and is also made available to you when booking your session.

When is the best time for a maternity session?

Every pregnancy is different, and your beautiful baby bump may grow at a faster or slower rate than expected, though as a general guide, it is a good idea to make a booking for your maternity session between the 32-36 week mark of your pregnancy. Bookings for this can be made at a closer date to when you feel your bump is predominant enough to be captured as a memory forever.

Do you provide maternity dresses?

Yes, I do have a growing collection of maternity dresses and drapes that are available for clients to use during their session.  You are also more than welcome to bring along outfits of your choice, although I always recommend clothing that is of a neutral colour palette and not patterned. This is to ensure the focus is on you and your surroundings.

Where are your maternity sessions held?

Maternity sessions can be held in the comfort of your own home or at a location of your choice^.

Can my partner also be included in the maternity shoot?

Of course they can! When making your booking for your maternity session, please also let me know that your partner will be joining. I will most likely reply with a simple request that they wear something that will be matching/coordinated with the general tones and aesthetic of the session you request.

Can you take some elegant maternity photos of me with no fancy outfits?

As long as you feel comfortable to pose in front of the camera with no clothes on, I'd be more than happy to help direct these pieces of art with you.

What is the difference between a newborn posed session and a newborn natural session?

Some clients wish to have their newborn captured in adorable outfits or wrapped up tightly in specific posed positions with a colour coordinated set backdrop- this is what I refer to as a 'Newborn Posed' session. Alternatively, a 'Newborn Natural' session is when a client prefers to have their newborn captured naturally in their element. Generally a newborn natural session takes place at the clients home, where they feel most comfortable. During this type of session, minimal direction is provided, allowing for more natural photos to be taken with the parents and or other family members interacting with the baby. It is almost like a family portraits session, except for the addition of the newest and tiniest member of the family.

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

To ensure you do not miss out on having those precious first few photos captured, it is a good idea to plan your booking early. The best time to book your newborn photography session is during the second trimester of your pregnancy. I take limited newborn sessions per month to allow for flexibility in case your baby arrives earlier or later than planned.

What if my baby arrives early/late?

That is perfectly fine. Upon making your booking, I will ask for your due date, and this is treated as a tentative session date in my calendar to prevent too many booking around the time that your baby is expected. Once your baby arrives, I do ask that you get in touch with me within 24 hours by sending me a quick email. Once I know your baby has arrived, we can schedule an appointment time for the following week.

Can I still make a booking if my baby is already born?

Yes, this is absolutely still possible. Sometimes I may have spots available and you can request a last minute new born session through my contact page. However, please note that due to the nature of the newborn posed photography sessions, I do not take on bookings if the baby is more than 3 weeks old. If you still wish to have some photos taken of your newborn after this first month, I would suggest booking in a newborn natural session.

When would be a good time to have my newborn photographed?

The ideal time to capture your precious little gem is within the first two weeks after they are born. This is because they are more sleepy, flexible and able to maintain poses without too much difficulty.

Do you do newborn posed sessions at a client's home?

Yes, although please note that there is an additional $50 fee*. This is to cover the cost and effort it takes to bring lighting, backdrops, props and outfits along to the session.

Do I need to do anything to prepare my home for an in home session?

Preparing the home is not essential, I like to document your home just the way it is, telling the story of your life at that time. Though if possible, I do prefer to photograph in a space with some natural light. And the only other thing I would suggest is if you could tidy your space of anything you may not want in your photos, and we can always move a few things away if necessary on the day.

Should we bring any outfits and props for the baby?

I have a variety of wraps, backdrops and props, however if there is something specific that you would your newborn to be dressed in, or pose with like a symbolic item, then you are more than welcome to bring that along with you to the session.

Can you take photos of our baby at the hospital?

Definitely! If this is something that you would prefer, I have the Hospital "Fresh 48" package on offer. This photoshoot can occur at the hospital within the first 48 hours of your child's birth. As it is a quick photoshoot session, I am usually able to schedule this in last minute.
